How we work out guide prices
Every price Qubrix shows is a guide for you to check and change. You decide the final price.
Labour
Each line is priced from published prices and guides: at a price per measure with materials included where one is published, at a labour-only rate, or by its time at the guide price for that trade's labour where you work. Times are taken or worked out from published prices and guides. Where nothing is published, the time is our assumption. You can change how any line is priced on the line itself.
Guide labour is a typical day rate for hiring that tradesperson where you work. Doing the work yourself? It's your price for your time, so leave its labour mark-up at 0%. Hiring them in? Add your labour mark-up on top.
The trades you do yourself are priced at your day rate from Your prices, which your True Rate can work out. A price you've saved for a line is used as you saved it.
Materials
Your own prices in Your materials prices are used first, then our guide prices: materials based on a UK builders' merchant's standard prices, October 2026, and, for the rest, typical UK prices from researched lists and published pages. A guide price isn't a supplier quote.
Everything else
Site costs, like travel, a skip, protection, clean-up and a minimum charge, go on a quote only when you tick them on the site costs list or say them, each as its own line at its own price. Nothing is added for the unexpected: the price is its lines, then VAT if you're registered.
When you talk or type a job in, AI suggests the items, quantities and times. For work that isn't on the price list, it can guess the hours and materials, priced at your labour rate and marked “AI guess: agree or change”. The AI never decides a price: you do, and every guide price shows in amber for you to check.
